How to check AI visibility
A visibility check is a sample of your site and of two official APIs. It is not a ranking in every AI product.
Start from the business, not a town guess
Confirm the name, the business model and the market. A registered office in one town does not make a national business local. If the industry is unknown, the scan uses a smaller check set and says so.
Readiness and discovery are different numbers
Readiness scores pages we could read. It is withheld when too much of the site was unobserved. Discovery is whether the APIs named you on unbranded questions. No observations means the discovery figure is absent. It is not a score of zero.
Which engines
The scan asks Anthropic and Perplexity Sonar through their APIs. That is not the consumer ChatGPT or Gemini app. Google AI Overviews are a separate check through DataForSEO when that check is enabled. A missing overview is not a miss. Sources are listed only when the provider names them.
